The Tufts Summer Research Experience is a six-week, in-person pre-college program designed for high school juniors and seniors with prior research experience. Students will be immersed in collegiate research, working in Tufts research laboratories under the active mentorship of world-class faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and students. The program focuses on developing foundational research skills through hands-on laboratory techniques and/or data and processing skills. Participants will actively contribute to ongoing research projects, learn about research ethics, and objectively evaluate information. Mornings are dedicated to hands-on research sessions within small cohorts, guided by a Teaching Fellow. Afternoons feature workshops, guest lectures from expert researchers, field trips to local research institutions, and opportunities to shadow ongoing research at Tufts. The program culminates in a research poster session where students present their work to peers, family, and faculty, gaining valuable experience in scientific communication.
