About this camp

The MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) is a rigorous, four-week project-based STEM program for talented high school students, primarily rising seniors, focusing on cutting-edge areas like cybersecurity, robotics, and artificial intelligence. The program emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning where students work on real-world projects, moving beyond theoretical concepts to develop practical, tangible skills. Participants gain expertise in areas such as flight dynamics, sensor integration, path planning, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and data science. The curriculum is designed to immerse students in the same tools, technologies, and challenges that MIT researchers tackle daily, culminating in capstone projects and presentations to MIT faculty and industry sponsors.
